  • Matthew Rice

    Registered Physiotherapist, Co-Owner

Matthew Rice received his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Queen’s University in 2014 and has worked as a Physiotherapist at Perth Physiotherapy since day one. Prior to Queen’s, Matt completed a BA in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Participating in several sports both as a coach and athlete since his early teens, Matt has experienced first-hand the benefits of both rehabilitation and pre-habilitation exercise. He believes in a holistic approach to treatment; recovery is more than just treating the site of pain – it’s a treatment of the whole system. Using techniques such as Acupuncture, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Neuro Kinetic Therapy (III) alongside exercise prescription, Matt enjoys helping clients of all ages and abilities return to their full potential with confidence.

When not in the clinic, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and young family, weightlifting, walking/running with his dogs, completing projects and enjoying the privacy of his rural property.

  • Cooper Rice

    Registered Physiotherapist, Co-Owner

Cooper Rice completed his Bachelors of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in 2020 and went on to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy at Queen’s University in 2022. Prior to his university studies, Cooper obtained a Diploma in Heritage Carpentry and Joinery at the Algonquin College Perth Campus and worked as a carpenter for several years.

Cooper employs a holistic, pragmatic approach that is guided by the biopsychosocial model and the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines. Cooper wholeheartedly believes in guiding and assisting others to help themselves find their own strengths and solutions to support long-term, positive behaviour change and optimal quality of life. Cooper works alongside each client to determine which functional goals are priority, and then scales these movement tasks back into more manageable, graded exercises that are relevant to each client’s goals. Cooper feels strongly that movement is indeed excellent medicine, but understands that the dosage - and the movement characteristics - make all the difference when working to optimize functional independence and quality of life.

Beyond his clinic interests in rehabilitation, Cooper is passionate about music, gardening, reading, and cooking. Most of all, Cooper loves spending time with his wife and border collie doing everything under the sun.
